Judaism: A World Religion

Judaism. What Is It?

Judaism Introduction.
Have you wondered about the world outside of your religion? Have you seen people from a religion that you probably don't know about? Well I did so I took matters into my own hands and started a proj
ect on a relig
ion I didn't really know about. I also wanted t
o learn a couple of things so my project is on Judaism. I this you will read about
their culture, customs, worships and ideas that a follower of Judaism might have.

Founders and Beliefs.
Judaism was founded in 1300 B.C. in Me
sopotamia by Abraham(As Seen On The Picture To The Left). Abrah
am was believed to be the ancestor of the Jewish People. Starting with Abraham God took special c
are of the Hebrews(now known as the Jews). To this day anyone can become Jewish. There isn't any customs or sacraments that you have to do in order to become a Judah.
Holy/Sacred Texts.
The Jews have wide series of books that they read and follow. Most Jews read
The Talmud and The Torah(Below). Both these book describe the early days
of Judaism and stories of Abraham and other well known Jews. These books also describe the famous events that occurred during the first years of Judaism.

Customs and Religious Holidays.
Of course each religion has to have it's celebration or time of happiness. Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah are one of the major religions the Jewish Religion Celebrate. Hanukkah is the most known. During Hanu
kkah people celebrate the miracle that happened over 2 thousand years ago. The Greek ruler Antiochus IV tried to force his army into Judea(now known as Israel). At this time the people of Judea went to the final battles and reclaimed the temple of worship on Mt. Moriah. As they wanted to "Rededicate" the temple they found out that the oil on the candle would only last one day. Miraculously the oil lasted eight days. As the tradition got started Jews to this day light the Menorah each and every Hanukkah.

Dressing And Customs
Both men and women are expected to behave and dress formally. Although at some occasions men will wear the black suit and long hat whenever they go out(Left). Have you heard of a Bar
Mitzvah? Thats the entering of Adulthood for a young man. A girl is similar and called a Bat Mitzvah. Now have you seen the ritual of Breaking Of The Glass At Jewish Weddings? Well to support it have several reasons. One is that the noise is supposed to scare away evil spirits. Another one is to remind the Jews of the destructions of the temples in Jerusalem.

Followers And Worshiping Faiths
To this day Judaism is a commonly practiced religion. 1.3 Billion people call this religion their life. Of those people, some are elected as Chief Rabis. Each Synagogue has to elect one leader, president and council.

To Shorten
As you now know what this religion is, I hope that you understand what you are looking at. Next time you see a Rabi you will know what it feels like.

Does Co-Existence Get Harder And Harder In Sports?

Has anyone realized how hard it is to get along with someone? It shouldn't be. Why start a conflict with anyone? Why start a conflict at all. Get on this web site to see what's going wrong. Understand that everyone has a different opinion in their minds and might not see what you see. Try your best to avoid any conflict. Sports are my examples. Teams always face conflicts and issues but they find the problem. How you ask? Well I'll show you. Usually the first step is to see what caused the conflict or what happened first.
